Jonathan & Jim's NYC Wedding Weekend (Part 2)

Weekend weddings are our favorite and Jim and Jonathan’s did not disappoint! After a night of celebrating their City Hall nuptials at Edwards in Tribeca, the grooms had another night of partying ahead of them at Gran Electrica in Brooklyn.

Cocktail hour was held indoors lit by tons of candles and adorned with simple floral arrangements of white roses, hydrangeas and greenery . As guests walked in they were greeted with trays of margaritas and champagne to sip on as well as chips, guac to snack on along with passed hors d'oeuvres to enjoy. Jim and Jonathan stood by the front door, greeting each and every single one of their guests as they walked in, thanking them for being a part of their weekend.

Once cocktail hour was over, guests made their way to the backyard area of the restaurant which was lit by string lights and candles. The railing of the staircase was decorated with garlands full of greenery and white roses, while the stairs were lit with candles. Each table had small arrangements placed on them with tealights to continue the glow of candlelight throughout the outdoor space. Jonathan and Jim did not want a seated dinner, they opted in for a passed food dining experience which included a variety of delicious tacos for their guests to enjoy.

Once everyone was settled into the space, Jonathan and Jim grabbed the microphone from the DJ, stood on top of the staircase and again thanked their guests for attending their weekend wedding celebration and introduced a few of their friends and family members to give toasts. Each toast given was special in its own right and gave everyone a look into the love story of the grooms and the love their family and friends have for the couple. After the speeches were over, it was time to dance, and what better way to start off the night with some good old Whitney Houston, How Will I Know.

Throughout the night guests danced, snacked on quesadillas, tacos and chips and drank margaritas. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the grooms decided to have churros which were passed out to the guests on platters. They were warm, sweet and delicious.. and to be honest even better than wedding cake!

As the night was coming to an end, Jonathan and Jim got a surprise guest.. their puppy Sasquatch aka Sassy, the most adorable golden doodle ever! She stayed for a few photos and a bunch of kisses and cuddles and left to let her dad’s enjoy the rest of their night.

All in all, Jim and Jonathan’s wedding weekend was amazing to be a part of. Working with them on creating their dream weekend was not only fun but easy. They were perfection to work with and their energy and good vibes were contagious. We loved meeting them and are excited for their future together as husband and husband!
