Having a holiday dinner party and want to impress your guests, but don’t want to spend a ton of money on table decor? We totally get it, neither do we! The holidays are expensive, but your table decor for your dinner party doesn’t have to be. Here are some of our tips on providing a gorgeous holiday tablescape your guests will swoon over without paying an arm and a leg to create it.

Sale Away

Anyone who knows me knows I cannot pass up a good sale and there are so many of them during the holidays! For example, Pier 1 has 50% off early Christmas clearance and Michael’s has 50% off all Christmas Decor! You can head over to their stores or sites and get everything you need for your holiday table for half the price! Here is an example of some of the items purchased for the photos above. You could set a table of 6 for under $150!

Get Thrifty

Around the holidays your local thrift stores will put out gently used holiday china and accessories. Use this to your advantage and buy up all the holiday plates, cups and table accessories you need for your event. Make sure they are the same color palate you are going with so they match the theme of your table. I have found some amazing vintage plates and gorgeous crystal stemware at thrift stores, you just have to really look. Once you haul it all home, be sure to wash it all properly.

Don’t have a thrift store close by? No problem. There are a ton of sites you can order from that have gently used items for good deals. Check out ebay, charish, etsy, and goodwill’s online shop. It may take some time to do a good search for them, but good deals are out there.

If your budget is tight have no fear! A little candlelight can go a long way. Head to the nearest dollar store and grab some taper candle holders and candles and place them down the center of the table along with a simple White Pine Christmas Garland from Lowes. If you want to add some color in there, drop a couple of pomegranates in the mix. It will add a fresh feel to the table. This tablescape will cost you less than $50 to achieve and not only will it be beautiful, it will last throughout the holiday season too!

Keep It Simple

If you don’t have the time to create a festive table for your dinner party, we understand. With work, a family to take care of, holiday shopping, and a long list of errands, decorating your table may not be a top priority and that’s fine! Simply add some candles to the table and grab some holiday floral arrangements from the grocery store and call it a day. Either way your table will be the place to make holiday memories with your family and friends, so enjoy it!
